Hi guys here is my current system:

E6600
GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Black Dragon EVO ONE DDR2 Dual
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5
antec truepower2 (550w)
Gigabyte 965p DS4 mobo (F11 bios)

ive upgraded the ram and video card from these:
G.Skill 2gb DDR2 800 (HZ)
HIS ATI 1900 ICEQ 3

Now with my old RAM and Video card i had no trouble whatsoever overclocking the cpu to 3.2ghz but if i even attempt to overclock it now, even a measly 1mhz the rig just restarts at the bios boot screen and disables the overclocking automatically. I can't see what the problem is as the RAM is exactly the same speed and CAS rating as my old stuff.

I've even tried setting it to 320 x9 and the RAM to x2.5 so the ram is exactly the same speed as it should be but it still does the same. I only know the basics of OCing so im not sure where i go from here?, i have also tried setting the correct voltage for the ram but if i do that the system just powers up then straight down and i have to clear the bios, so i leave it on auto.

Any help appreciated,
Si

fixed! bit of an odd one this i was searching around and seen someone mention something which i didnt really think would have an effect but it seems to have fixed it!

I had to disable "Legacy usb storage detect" from the integrated peripherals menu. It had something to do with my external USB drive.... computers are strange beasts!
