Well I have 3 partitions on my main hard drive which is the hard drive that has the windows partition on it. I want to make the windows partition a lot smaller because its 250gb, but with either the disk manager or disk part it wont let me shrink it. Ideas?

think it depends on how much spare space you haev on that particular partition.
Or it may be that as the active it cannot be altered that way.

Buy or borrow Partition Magic...............or try GParted

You'll need to use a third party tool which incorporates a degree of defragmentation logic. The built in disk management tools in Windows will only shrink a partition as far as the furthest bit of existing data.
