Hi All,

I’m looking to purchase a new gaming setup and want to sell my old rig, but I’m not sure what’s it’s worth. I’ve asked around and I’m getting very different numbers, so I wondered if you guys would be able to help me come to a consensus.

I will list my specs and link the advert I have up for it as well in case you want to see the case. It’s in perfect condition and I bought it for £1,765.83 (not including tax) in 2020.

I will do that I guess. What’s the logic behind me not being able to ask here?
Simples, because the forum is owned and run by Ocuk, an etailer that is selling computer components. Someone buying a used computer is a potential lost sale.

Doesn't really matter what
The logic is
It's just the rules whether we like them
Or not

But MM is a place for buying and selling stuff
So price checks in there
Are of some benefit to members both selling the items
And buying them
Price checks outside MM are of no benefit
Except to the party asking
Would end up with hundreds or thousands of
Price check questions
Just so people could then sell stuff on ebay,Facebook etc

And I expect the person making the price request will get pm requests from people making offers. Then people make deals outside of the MM thread and complain to OC when they get ripped off.

At least having these threads in the MM, with post count requirments, implies that people wanting to sell stuff aren't just new accounts with a low post count scammers, and implies some degree of trust.

I’m still not sure how I access the MM? Thank you for explaining thought without being rude.

You need to be a forum member for 6 months or more
And have a post count of 1,000 or more
New members to the forums will have
A limit on how many posts per 24 hours
To stop spam bots
And to make sure it actually takes some time
To reach MM requirements

It's a min of 1000 posts + being forum member for 6 months.

Also, a recent rule change also means folk need to post at least 15 times in a rolling 90 day period in order to continue to have access once they reach the requirements.

Hard method: Go on the bay and search completed listings for the specific product and get an average of the last 5-10.

Long method: List it for sale at a price you'd like to get for it. Reduce by 10% every week it doesn't sell.

Easy method: List it for the lowest price you'd be happy to sell for. If it doesn't sell, you're not ready to sell.

You forgot easiest method
Take it to that high street store
That buys pc/electronic stuff
Easiest method usually means getting
Lowest price for it though

Edit
It's by no means a bad pc
So best method
Be active on ocuk forums
Keep the pc another 6 months it will last fine
For that period
And qualify for MM
