...today and I ordered the OCZ Vertex2 60 GB and asked them to install it too but it hasn't been installed. Now I've plugged the SSD in but Windows isn't recognising the drive.

I've looked in the BIOS for the AHCI but I can't find that anywhere. Could anyone give me a hand with this please? I will also need to reinstall windows onto it as well which I've heard isn't as simple as transferring the install straight over.

Thanks

In what way does Windows not detect it?

Did you initialise and/or assign the drive a drive letter in Disk Management?

Hey

Well I've gone into the BIOS and it's not detecting it anywhere in there, nor is the SSD being detected in Disk Management when rescanning for devices. So it's not appearing anywhere at all :(

Some things to try:

Check SATA cable is plugged in and not loose. [both ends!]
Try another SATA cable, in case current cable is damaged.

Check power cable is plugged in and not loose.
Try another power connector.

I made a schoolboy error :P I won't go there!

Anyway, now I've got it up I've managed to get the OS system, and my god I can already notice a difference! I'm going to record some benchmarks soon :)

Thanks for you help guys :) Much appreciated!
