ok Im well happy with the size etc - looks nice... but I cant seem to get the brightness correct.

Ive a dell 1710 - had 17" widescreen monitor with it - the brightness is spot on -
for example I want the same wallpaper on desktop and laptop.

when using the same on the desktop - theres blue thats dull... so I turn up the brightness.... then the white seems toooo bright.... the laptop is just great out the box.

have I found a drawback to the 2407 or just not set up correct.

(using a Nvidia 6800 GT for now - new system getting built shortly)

any software I can run on both to get corresponding brightness etc ?
am connected using DVI - Ive plugged the laptop into 2407 and screen is great... just cant seem to get correct image through desktop.

any help / software ?
TIA

oh and using the Nvidia control panel to change the brightness settings directly through the dell..... the brightness works... but contrast doesnt... is it suppose to ?
also temperature dont do anything... this correct ?

They are different panels, so they will not look the same - also laptop is VGA. I have 2 exactly the same monitors sitting next to each other, one DVI and one VGA and its impossible to get them the same with the different connections!

<edit> You cant change the contrast when using DVI by the way.

ok - was trying to change the contrast via the nvidia panel - option at the bottom - this was directly accessing the dell... but only would only change the brightness..... changed the options via the top of the nvidia panel - this looks better lol :)

Still think the laptop screen is nicer ;)
