trouble verifing card

i am trying to purchase a product and i have to verify by visa, i have typed in my details twice and its said they are wrong, i am worried that if i type them in again that it will lock my card

this happened to anyone else? anything else i can do ?
 
If you get the details wrong for a third time it won't so much lock your card as lock the verified by visa feature.
At this point you will be asked to fill in other details from your card - Start Date, Expiry Date, CCV, Name as printed on card etc.
At the end of that process you can then select a new Verified by Visa password - most contain at least one number and not be one you've used already.

Just been through the very same with my company Barclaycard.
I thought I was putting in the right details until I'd done it wrong 3 times - it was at this point I'd realised I was using th wrong password!
 
lol on my barclaycard i always had to get the verified by visa crap wrong i can never remember the password i absolutely hate it!
i'd rather payvia paypal with my CC if thats an option
 
Check with your card issuer, my debit & credit card [Yorkshire Bank] lock your pin no for 24 hours if you fail 3 times then you can carry on using them again, saves a lot of trouble in cancellation and waiting for new cards or pin numbers to come through post. :)

hes talking about a verified by visa password its an extra layer of :rolleyes:"protection":rolleyes: and totally seperate from the pin
 
ahh i managed to get it right the last time
i was putting MR where it didn't want it

woo shame i ordered at 5.00 now it has to be delivered on Friday, damnn u visa lol :P
 
i always get mine wrong. mine was locked for about a year as i could never get through to them to unlock it. then the other day i thought id try again and they picked up on the first ring. now its set to exactly the same as my online banking! hoorah

Why is it pointless? How come you reset the password, rather than entering it?
 
i dont think its pointless, the more security i can get for my card the better, my cards been compromised before and a lot of my money was taken out.

It is pointless or the Visa one is as the only addition info you need to reset the password is your date of birth.

Chances are if somebody has got hold of your card details, they will have this or can easily be found?
 
The verify by visa thing is broken. The password is NEVER right. And it's so easy to reset (thank god) that if someone managed to get to that part, they'd be able to reset it anyway.

because the card doesnt actually get locked you just get blocked from using verified by visa sites so the thief can just goto someone that isnt using verified by visa anyway
