trouble with hdd

having problem the hdd installed windows 8 on it and with in 10 minutes it just freezes but i can still move the courser but nothing else works reset pc and then pc carnt find the hdd :confused:

any 1 else had this problem

I've had this issue with Western Digital Scorpio Black drive with older laptops. The WD was incompatible with the hardware in 2 different laptops running Core2 Duo Centrino2 ... so I RMA'd it and bought a Seagate Momentus instead which resolved my problem.

just changed the hardrive reinstalled windows working great thanks for the reply

Does the HDD show up in the BIOS? You could try reseating power and data leads to see if its just a loose connection.

No hdd not showing in bios also tried it in another setup for storage use but nothing I assume it's dead

If the drive is still in warranty I would RMA.
