Title is a bit vague and not exactly rare - but I've a few things that are wrong.

MSN Messenger / Windows Live Messenger

When I start up the computer. It takes an age for this program to appear. With MSN Messenger I would be able to see the logo in the bottom right of the toolbar, but it takes a good 2 minutes plus before it pops up on the screen, able to use/log in.

Annoyance Level - Not really annoying. Just a question to be asked.

Media Player 11

When I use this to play a single song, I'm always met with a delay of around 3-4 seconds when closing it. This is quite annoying and didn't happen on my last computer - which was of a considerably "worse" spec.

Annoyance Level - Quite annoying, but not the end of the world.

Internet Explorer 7

Very unstable. Hasn't worked at all (tried a few Beta versions and the latest release). It usually doesn't respond after any interaction with it (clicking on any option, particularly 'Internet Options'). I'm unsure of what would be causing this.

Annoyance Level - Very. Especially as I've heard such good things about it - and something that I possibly *need* to get sorted.

-- Spec --

Intel Core Duo 2 ( 2.4Ghz )
Gigabyte DS4
Geil 2048 MB DDR2
Soundblaster Music X-FI
74GB Raptor (OS & Games)
320 WD (Everything else)
ATI 512mb X1900XT
DVD/RW Drive
DVD Drive
FSP Sparkle 700W

-- Additional Notes --

Not sure if it's relevant or not - but as the Operating System (XP Pro SP2) is Microsoft related, it might be.

A while ago I was working on my computer, doing nothing overly demanding. Probably had a few programs running (Word, Messenger, Media Player, Opera) and suddenly I got a blue screen of death.

Unfortunately I didn't remember to write down the error that I got and I hoped that it would re-start no problems.

I turned it on again hoping for this and thankfully it worked. For a few weeks after the bsod, I kept getting an error screen appear transparently on my screen, shortly after passing the bios and before the XP loading screen. It hasn't appeared since and only crashed my computer once - but perhaps it might be inflicting some interference?

The computer is virus and spyware free and has the latest XP updates (barring of course, IE7)

Thanks in advance.
