Trouble with MSN Live! File is unsafe to view

THis is really getting on my wick, ive googled about it and tried a few other forums.

After downloading files it tells me they are a potential risk and wont allow me to open them

I have Avarst! setup as my virus checker and it scans every blooming file i receive from trusted sources.

Is there anyway short of going back to MSM7 that i can delete this extremley over cautious security settings.

Also how do i get the hand wrotting feature to work???

So you want to disable the MSN "Ooh you sure you wanna download that pet?" safety feature?

Download the Mess.be or A-Patch. Both have similar options to allow you to remove stuff you don't want for MSN and mod it a bit. Both allow you to disable that feature.

I used to use the Mess.be patch but I then discovered A-Patch and use that nowadays.

As for the handwrotting ( :rolleyes:

) feature I think you need to install the Windows Journal Viewer AND not disable the handwrotting (

) feature in Mess.be or A-Patch.

What setting did you enable? Did you use the mess.be patch or the A-Patch?

A-patch

all i had was 40ish check boxes none relating to security stuff.. ill try again tommorow

Run A-Patch again. Check each page very carefully, one of them has a disable file sharing protection option or similar. I can't remember which page or what exactly it is called but it is in there. I can't run A-Patch now as I am on MSN.

Check it again, it is in there somewhere.

You could always rename the extension when downloading the file and rename it once its downloaded. Thats not ideal though.
