Hey all,
I recently just got a new computer built for me, it has 2gb of overclocked RAM, an overclocked duel core 4400 + 2.31Ghz AMD CPU, and an Nvidia 250 series graphics card. The PSU is 650w, but i'm sceptical of it, since i got it very cheap for the wattage. Link:
Now the problem is: When I am doing normal day to day activities, web browsing, playing music, going on msn, etc the computer works fine, but when I try to go on games, such as TF2 and L4D, it functions well for a while, but then proceeds to shut down, no warning, no blue screen, it's just as if someone has pushed in the power button, I have to unplug everything, leave it for a few seconds, and then plug it back in again.
any idea of what the problem may be?
thanks,
Joe

it would tell you a lot but the heat sink on the CPU may have came loose in transition
hence why the instant shutdown the motherboards overheating protection will be shutting down your to prevent CPU damage if the heat sink not seated securely
