Trouble with PC...

Hi guys I was wondering whether anyone can shed any light on some of the trouble I am finding with my PC.

When my PC is totally shutdown and I happen to plug in my USB memory stick or anything that is USB my PC automatically starts up. I am not sure why this happens. Is there a way of stopping this?

Also I have a ASUS P5W Deluxe Motherboard and was wondering whether when my PC is turned off, is it possible to make it so that mobo is actually on? At the moment I have a green LED that stays lit even though I have shutdown my PC.

Many thanks guys and girls :)

The reason for the turn on sujests that in your BIOS one of the settings has been changed, there is normally one that says something like turn on via USB device...I think that's what mine says anyways.

As for the LED that light is always on, it's to tell you that there is power flowing to the motherboard and the PC isn't off at the wall/broken. :)

yeah thats right, it can also do it with fax modems, hense why its advised to ensure power is disabled before installing the hardware.
