Hi there I am having issues with my fps drops in certain games like Witcher 3, GTA V and just cause 3 all large open areas; once every 10-20 seconds my frame-rate halves (usually 60 down to 30) and the game really chugs for a couple of seconds then is fine again, this is only started happening really recently which seems like it shouldn't be considering I have a 1080. I also think my PC seems generally slower loading tasks but can't really be that certain as I am not great at judging these things.

I have run memtest for 4 passes with no errors both my GPU and CPU seem to stay in very health temp ranges (nothing over 70)

I thought this could be a SSD issue but my Sandisk ultra II appears in ok health from the crystal mark run and the sandisk dash but I am not great at knowing if thats an ok score or not.

Would very much appreciate any advice for finding the issue.

specs are i7 4970k, 16 gb, of hyper x ddr3 ram, a palit 1080 game rock and a coursair hx750 psu. Also fire strike benchmarks for my pc are fine at 18,000 which is consistant with how its been since i got the new card.

The drop from 60 to 30 every now and then sounds like Vsync is on, whether in-game or in Nvidia Control Panel. Can you check that?

Okay try disabling it, see what happens. If all good and you like some sync, try enabling Adaptive Vsync for each game in Nvidia Control Panel (leave game vsync off) to see whether that's smoother. I know Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Panel works better for GTA. Let us know.

Doesn't seemed to have made a difference but i just checked my event log and its getting different errors
