I have just returned to 32 bit XP after trying x64 but finally giving in to the poor driver support.
I am having a lot of trouble installing the correct driver series for the onboard Silicon Image 3114 controller. I have two SATA drives attached and have been running them both as single drives.
I have tried various drivers - most unrecognised as suitable by Windows - but only the RAID5 driver set will install. The drivers then show up as devices, but since they are not configured as a RAID array, I cannot access them.
The motherboard is the Asus A8N-SLI Premium.
Anyone know which drivers I need to use the Sil 3114 with two SATA drivesin a non-RAID configuration?
I know it is possible as I have run this set up in 64 bit for a year. However, every driver I have from Asus and Silicon Image fail to start (code 10).
Anyone else have this problem and find the solution?
Must be simple but it has eluded me for three hours and I figure I may be best served asking for help!
