Hi Guys,

I am having a bit of trouble with my Netgear D834GT wireless router. I haven't had it that long, maybe a month or so but i seem to have to restart/reboot the router every day or so to let me have access again.

Basically I could be using my wired connection fine for an evening then i might shut down my pc and turn it on later that night. And i get the "Limited or no connectivity" symbol and text come up. And when you try and repair it just freezes for a few seconds and says that it cannot be repaired. So then i turn the pc off. Go on my macbook or ipod touch and get into the router settings that way to reboot the router, after that i can turn on the pc and all will be well until the next day or so. It seems to be pretty random.

Whether this has anything to do with it being wireless (not had a no connectivity problem on the macbook or ipod yet though). Although it is connected through a wired port on the router so i dont see how those could conflict.

To continue what i was saying before, i had to setup the router using the AOL install router software as i couldnt seem to get it to work without going through that. So i am not sure if there is a setting which i need to change or not.

Oh and when i do get the "limited or no connectivity" error i am not able to connect to the router settings in the web browser hence needing to go on to my mac/ipod. Also i appear to have the latest firmware for the router and that was my first idea.

Any help or advice is much appreciated. :)

Cheers

Bumping as it has just happened again. I have the feeling it may be assigning IP addresses wrong and as it was given my sisters laptop the same ip as my desktop pc. And that laptop used to get the message sometimes.

Will see if changing the ip address has worked.

;)

Well thanks for your tales of frustration guys. Seems like it will be a hard problem to sort out but i think it was a IP address that was conflicting with that other laptop.

Its okay so far.

My router does seem to get very hot but it hasnt stopped working when the desktop pc is on or turned it self off or anything.

Will see how it goes.

;)

Cheers
