Howdo

Earlier this evening, I put my computer to sleep using the keyboard, and now it won't turn on at all. The paperclip test on the PSU confirms that it's fine, all the HDDs spin up and the fans spin up, and yet it won't boot, not a spark of life. I've tried unplugging the power switch cable and shorting the pins with a knife, but no luck.

Now for the embarrassing bit... I hit the sleep shortcut on the keyboard by accident having aimed for the calculator, and in my frustration sat there spamming the power button while it was in the process of going to sleep. Nothing I try will get it to live again though, even disconnecting the hard drives and resetting the BIOS.

My guess is that the motherboard died, either by my doing or for some other reason. Any other guesses?

There's no spark of life, the fans don't twitch or anything.

Shorting the pins is fine, it's all the power button does after all. Been doing it for years lol.

No the fans spin up when I tried the paperclip test on the PSU, but when the motherboard is supposed to get power from the PSU, it doesn't.

This makes me very sad in the face. It's not even 3 years old yet...

Hmmmm 3770k time? :P
