Troubleshooting motherboard and CPU

Got an issue atm where my PC was getting loads of different BSOD's. I've narrowed down the problem to my motherboard or CPU. Currently I have no hard drives or graphics card plugged in, I've managed to run the windows memory diagnostic using Hiruns USB tool and I've reinstalled the BIOS. I've also tried a different PSU, and I think it's worth mentioning that I can't reinstall my OS. It seems to boot to a USB or disk just fine as long as it isn't a OS installation tool. I have a win 10 USB which causes my PC to crash if used (I've checked is not the USB that's the issue) and I've tried a win 7 disk which didn't work either. When using the disk it would load correctly but would always shut itself down after about a minute, regardless of what it was doing. I've noticed that the motherboard displays an error code before it resets itself when the win ten USB is used (02 - Ap initialisation before micro code loading). Any help would really be appreciated, specs are as follows:

Motherboard: Maximus VIII Hero
CPU: i7-6700k
PSU: OCZ 550W z5 series
Memory: 16Gb DDR4 2400MHz crucial ballistix sport
GPU: inno3d GTX 970 (not plugged in)
Storage: 60Gb SSD, 320 Gb HDD, 2Tb HDD (none plugged in)
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo
 
How old is the system, is it a new build? has it worked at all?

if its never worked make sure that the cpu cooler is not too tight and could be causing bending of the cpu\mobo.

have you tried with just one stick of ram in? I had a issue with one of my three sticks of ram and all the tests I ran said it was fine till for he sake of it I removed one at a time until the issue has gone away.

have you tried another ssd\hdd to rule that out? also when installing from USB stick are you using USB 3 or 2 port? if using three then try a USB 2 port instead

It's between working since September, only just recently broke, as for the other stuff I've tried all of them apart from the CPU cooler. When I first built it I had a dodgy sick of ram so they've all been thoroughly tested now
