Right, trying to trouble shoot a new build.

Got a Gigabyte AMD mobo, when I power on it's getting juice but not posting.

CPU fan is spinning up, graphics card is spinning up but nothing on screen.

I've tried:
1. Different ram.
2. Different ram in different slots.
3. Different graphics card.
4. Different monitor.
5. Different CPU.

All of the parts are new to me but used, only constants I have are I know the monitor works and the extra graphics card I tried works.

24pin power plug is in, 4 pin cpu power is plugged in. The graphics card that needed it had the 6 pin and span up.

Only thing I haven't really tried yet is a different PSU but I've not got one available.

It's the first time I've messed with AMD boards so is there anything obvious I'm missing?

Just tried a CMOS reset, no luck.
Not sure if grounding could be an issue - currently just got the board sitting on top of the box testbed style (not on an anti-static back or anything ;) )
PSU is a Tagan 750, so not a generic cheapy....hmmm...although I do have a PSU lead tester here somewhere, I should dig that out.

Hmmm...the first time I've used the power tester, can someone help me interpret?

There's a circle with:

+5
-5
+3.3
-12+
pg
+12
+5vsb

When just the 24 pin mobo power plug is in they are all lit green apart from the -5

There are two additional leds, a +5 and +12

The +12 lights when I also plug in the 4pin cpu power.
The +5 lights if a plug in a molex connector.

Is the -5 rail/connection bust do you think as it didn't light?

Yeah, I've just tested two other power supplies I have and neither lit the -5, the one in my i7 setup (which I'm not taking out to test on this mobo as the cable management took freakin' ages) and a cheapo 350 generic one I've got which only has a 20 pin power plug so I don't think I can use it to power the AMD mobo, or can I? Although it seems like the tagan is probably working alright anyway and it's another issue...

Tried it, still gets juice but no post.
I won't have any grounding issues with the board on the box like this will I?
