True cooler installation problem

I am in the process of fitting my new True cooler purchased from OC to my Abit ip35 pro xe.

It is in place and screwed down tightly as far as the spring loaded screws will allow.

The problem is that I can still slide the true around, even though the screws are as tight as they can go.

Surely this is not right?

There were two bags of fittings. I opened and used the one indicated as for my 775 mobo.

I am wondering if the brackets that hold the cooler to the mobo were placed in the wrong bags at the factory?

I don't know yet even if there is a difference in size of the brackets.

Both sets of fittings were in sealed bags.

I take it, that if I left it as it is, it is not reccomended?

Is the washer mod really complusory to have a safe installation?

Will any washers do or should they be specific ones / material?

Just done a search and I see exactly what you mean by the washer mod.

I will have a search in my garage for some washers.

Thanks.... ;)

Mine wiggled around when i had it but never affected the performance, washer mod didn't make a difference to my temps but made me happier knowing it was solid there

Done the mod and it has not made much of a difference. The cooler is not goin anywhere though, so I am no concerned anymore.

Used two thick washers, so don't think I can go any thicker really without a big struggle to get the screws into the holes without using excessive pressure.

Now I am trying to work out how the fan clips work. I have found the holes they engage in, but struggling at the moment to get them to hold a fan in place.
