True iPhone Tariff

I am wondering whether to activate my phone through iTune and go on the iPhone tariff Since they are now better. But wonder if my phone would work better that way. Getting better edge and gprs services and the like?

Compared to what?

With O2, you can get EDGE with the official tarrif, or any other monthly tarriff with the Bolt-on data.
Orange has some EDGE coverage as well.

The only thing (AFAIK) that you need the official tarrifs for is Visual Voicemail

EDGE and GRPS sucks because it has tiny bandwidth, easily degrades under contest and has high latency; this can never be improved - all that can be improved is coverage, which is neither here nor there for GPRS, but I hear EDGE coverage is on the rapid increase

But I am trying to get my phone to work correctly on GPRS as if i put the card into my n95 it works a gem. When it in the iphone it a no no. Sometime it ok sometime it isnt

What do you mean by that? Can't make head or tail of it?

Do you have an unlocked iPhone, have put your sim in and cant get GPRS? You will only get GPRS and EDGE when it is available.

I have u jailbroken my phone and is unlocked. Where i am GPRS is good it works on my women phone no problem. it something to do with o2 think o2 restrict services

Also have you manage to ssh into yours? got mms working?

Well if you dont have a very good service from 02 in your area then an official iPhone tariff won't make things better.

No haven't ssh'd in because I am on 1.1.4 and the fix is 1.1.3. Don't want to mess it up.

Noooo. O2 is very good in my area GPRS is great using my N95. But when it in my iphone GPRS is 50/50
