Hi Guys,

Got a quick question before I setup my TRUE push-pull.

I was wondering what would actually be better (at low noise). 2 Noctua P12s or a set of Panaflo 38mms? Obviously the 38mms are more powerful but I want a setup thats relatively quiet and it seems static pressure is what that matters...

Would be fan controlled if required though as they are HSF fans Id rather 5v/7v them directly in case the fan controller ever failed or something stupid :p

Obviously setup will be used for some decent overclocking...

i would have thought the noctus as the panaflo even under volted will probably louder the the noctus at 12v
from what ive read the p12's have great air flow even when they are run at 7v and 5v
you could always use the shrouds from 2 old 120mm fans with the centre missing to help increase airflow

Nice idea regards the shrouds, but I guess 2x 120mm is decent enough for air cooling.

Just got a load of fans and just checking that the P12 were worth getting...

Once I get this sorted Ill have loads of odds and ends :p

with a TRUE its not just about air flow it is about static pressure as the fins are very tight... you can have high air flow at low pressure and it wont get pushed through the fins...

In general anything under 800-1000RPM is "silent" you are going to hear your hdd over it at any rate.. the panaflo running at 5v should be fine... although I would suggest to plug them to your MB and speedfan controll them so that you can change your cooling umph on demand :)

If you have the Panaflo I would set them up and see what you think before spending money on new fans

Ive already got both :p. Was worried that the 38mm fans may not fit in my case anyway and dwarf access to other things (RAM clearance)...

EDIT: Dno why I said in my previous post 'getting' - meant 'using'. Soz :p
