Truecrypt alternative

Hello

As truecrypt has now been pulled what is everybody moving to please.

Dont really want to pay for one as dont trust corporations and I would like to encrypt the entire drive.

I think I am right in saying Bitlocker is made by Microsoft so wont be touching it, and definetely a tinfoil hat wearer lol

Are there any TrueCrypt alternatives for cross compatibility? I have always used encrypted containers with Truecrypt... which can then be mounted and used on any Windows/Mac/Linux platform, rather than just using FDE on one platform.

Did you mean to post this in the Linux forum? Surely you don't use Windows then?

Nowt wrong with Truecrypt if it's compatible with your OS.

Apart from the fact the official download now will only decrypt, not encrypt. Find a download of an old version, and save it for when you need to install on any new PCs.

Didn't the developer of Truecrypt recommend to use Bitlocker, due to the discontinuation of Truecrypt?

I'm not sure but i'm sure I have read it somewhere.
