Trunked transceivers made by Tait... ex business transceivers.

I got a load of VHF Tait T2030 Trunked transceivers and I thought I would be able to put them to good use... they are 4 channel transceivers and it says online that they will take 4 conventional channels so they can work as two way radios or be used in repeater systems. I can read the radios DATA but I don't understand Trunked stuff or what the settings do or mean because I only work on conventional transceivers. Is there anybody on here that understands trunkers junk?

yep thats what I thought while trying to understand what it all means... Maybe there is a PMR engineer on here who knows more... I don't think Trunked systems are used anymore, its all mostly DMR now days and other forms of digital modes.

Well this video explains what Trunked means but looking at the programming software, its a minefield of all sorts of jargon I don't understand. I understand conventional perfectly and I can reprogram transceivers for frequencies etc but Trunking... I just don't understand trunking programming jargon to get the radio to work conventionally as a 4 channel radio that can then be used back to back with others.

The issue I have is not understanding the Trunked programming software in order to turn off the trunked settings and just have the 4 conventional channels. I might try some firmware for a Conventional model, maybe if I flashed the chip with conventional firmware then I can re-program the radio with the Conventional application... worth a try I guess. I did a reset to factory in the programming but it didn't help so maybe some Firmware might do something.

I do run a risk bricking the eeprom tho but its replaceable if that happens.
