I have an Asus Rog Strix X-299-E motherboard, and when I first got the computer if I looked in Device Manager in Windows 10 the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 showed up under Security devices

Then I upgraded the BIOS / UEFI to the latest version on the 22nd of March to fix the Meltdown and Spectre bugs and ever since then the TPM 2.0 has disappeared. I've looked through every single menu in the BIOS / UEFI and can't find a single reference to it, so I'm somewhat confused about why it has disappeared from the Windows 10 Device Manager.

Does anyone have any idea how to get it back? It is important to me as I want to use Bitlocker on my computer to encrypt the drives and apparently the TPM 2.0 is needed for the best results.

Any help is appreciated.

Downgrade you BIOS? Contact Asus and tell them your problem.
I've contacted Gigabyte in the past about missing options that stopped ESXi from installing and they made me a custom BIOS.

I can't downgrade my BIOS. That would leave me vulnerable to the Meltdown and Spectre CPU bugs that Intel announced in January.

I'll try and open a support ticket with ASUS and see what they say. Just need to find my motherboard box first to see what my serial number is.
