An idea, similar to the botw but more aimed at mini reviews of drinks.
I find myself trying new beers weekly with the local morrisons running a 3 for 4.50.

To keep the posts from being too big or small. Shall we keep it to each post can only contain 1-2 beers. Each post must contain a mini review and self taken image. By all means talk about the beers of others, but after your own.

Thoughts of the idea?

That they do dj.
This is a more relaxed version of that thread I suppose. Aimed more at people trying things they wouldn't normally buy.

As for me, images to follow when im home.

Two Hoots - quite enjoyed this beer. Has a nice refreshing taste went down a treat. Very drinkable and would definately have it again.

Double Chocolate Stout - Meant to have a chocolate and coffee taste. I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. The sink had more of it than I did and I'd normally force a drink down than pour it away. Couldn't even recommend it to those I don't like.

Never tried Two Hoots but I've had a few Chocolate stouts :)

People (not saying you're one of them) tend to think they are going to be really chocolate flavoured, and they just aren't. You're lucky if you get a hint rather than a strong taste of it. Sometimes it's just the texture of the drink within your mouth can give that velvety chocolate feel. :)

Anymore in the pipeline? Oh and whereabouts are you, could you hurry up and get home as I'm busting to see them. :D

I might pop to the Great British Beer Festival this evening. Probably one or two new ales to try!

A few weeks ago I went "off-piste" at Wetherspoons. Their foreign beer bottles section are surprisingly good value when compared to london prices (I'm going by the 500ml+ bottles). I normally have a real ale from their pumps but every now and then I'll try a cider or the bottled beers. Baltika from Russia was perfectly drinkable and cheap (in comparison). The only downside is I'm drinking in a Wetherspoons.

oh yes and sainsburys 3 for £5, I had Singha beer. I'd not had it before but because it was cheap I thought I'd give it a go. I was very pleased and have bought more of the stuff.

One beer that I'd suggest you have a look out for to atleast try is St. Peters' Honey Porter. I love it and recommended it a couple of times but not everyone's cup of tea. I've seen it in Waitrose but not many other places. They only have one pub and that's in London so i visit that now and then.

I too have had a fair few chocolate stouts, I find it much nicer from the tap than from the bottle.
