Ok, been having a few PC problems lately so will start at the beginning and any diagnosis will be helpful.
Started off a couple of months back with XP failing to boot and moaning the installation was corrupt. Couldnt restore it so putit down to the hard drive and so bought a new one and installed XP on there and the old drive ran fine as a slave.
Since then, it fails to boot the first time and prompts the following message.
Ive also started to have problems writing DVDs for the past month, and now they completely fail through both Windows and Nero. Ive replced the DVD writer today and the new one fails too.
With the hard drive problems, I put it down to simply the drive but now the DVD writer seems to have stopped Im not sure whether its the motherboard, or XP or what.
Anyone got any ideas? Motherboard is an Asus A8V Deluxe, hard drives are bothe Samsung SATA ones.
Worth a BIOS upgrade first?

Strangely, a simple reboot works and the PC then boots fine, basically the first boot fails but a restart then works.
