Used for a mixture of gaming and productivity.
To replace an old MX518
Not fussed about RGB

I was thinking about an MX518 Legendary, but it seems a bit pricey at £80 so I was looking at wireless ones too...
The Corsair DARK CORE RGB PRO looks ok but has features I dont need and it looks a bit 'gamey!' but it like that it has a USBc socket to recharge as I'm already geared up for that.

I don't need loadds or programmable buttons or anything, but a DPI switch is very handy.

Any ideas?

When I replaced my beloved MX518 I went to a G502 Lightspeed. Liked it so much the kids how have a wired G502 for their pc and I also have a wired G502 for my lappy.

Thanks, I looked at that - it looks ok apart from the body shell is full of gaps and crevices...seems like it would be a nightmare to keep clean, so that's kind of a deal breaker for me!

Don't really want to pay that much either, I dont need 3 million programmable buttons.

Do you have a shape preference or anything? I've not had issues with my SteelSeries stuff over the years, at least not within the 5 year or so mark. My peripherals are entirely SteelSeries and have been for years, my wife's is predominantly so.

There's the Rival series which is quite streamlined with a slight palm hump, but not as much as other mice I believe.

The Rival 3 is considerably cheaper than the 5 if you can find one

There's the Aerox series with the cheese design

I'd warn against their wireless though - my wife's Aerox 3 Wireless was advertised as having long battery life... turns out that's on Bluetooth, 125hz, no RGB etc. In 2.4ghz mode with RGB, 500+Hz it lasts maybe a few evenings of gaming

If I stick with wired, I'll probably just stump up for the MX518 legendary, tbh.

Wireless im kinda torn between the MSI CLUTCH GM41 and theEndgame Gear OP1we.

There are some potentially better wirless mice, but a lot more expensive.. I refuse to spend more than about £70 on a mouse, it just seems silly.

I play a lot of OSRS and looked a lot into wireless mices a few months ago.

Logitech mice have really light clicks and are very expensive. I have two G305 s, one for my gaming PC and one for my work machine. I can recommend them!

Nah, 30 seconds with an old toothbrush every month or so, maybe a quick air-dusting out. I clean my PC more often than I need to clean the mouse.

The G502 Hero is often on sale. I picked mine up for £30 from the purple place when my last one suddenly died. I didn't think I'd like it and it was only meant to be a stop-gap until I found a better one... but it's since become a firm favourite.
Buttons are there if you want them, but you don't have to use them. I find the different profiles also make them work well for productivity functions, with DPI adjust on the scroll wheel tilt and a DPI clutch on the forward thumb button for FPSes.

Personally, yet to experience a mouse as comfortable as the MX518 and like OP, checked out the legendary edition which is going for £80. I baulked.

If you set on the Legendary edition, and patient, don't discount Amazon Warehouse. Just this week I took a gamble and picked up a warehouse offer, for a Legendary MX518 for £27. The courier handed it to me and by gum, the box was destroyed, looked like it had been picked up out of a dumpster. I was not going to bother opening and simply send it back.

Anyway, curiosity got the better and despite the battered box, it's new! Worth a gamble, just be prepared to return if it's not as described.

I really like my Logitech G PRO X Superlight but they are pricey. Use it for both games and work. I have fairly small hands and it’s very comfortable.

Probably are better value options out there.

same I like mine too, however I have large hands and I do wish it was just that little bit bigger and the thumb buttons are a bit crap! but for fps games its a game changer. Normal mice seem like you're holding a brick after using it. I know Razor also do a good ultra light but that's also expensive.
