Hi All,

Got a Mid 2010 MBP that I am trying to clean up ready to sell this week, but when I entered the recovery console (option + R) it tells me it will reinstall Mountain Lion.

I deleted the old partition, created a new one and zero'd the free space so the drive content is gone now, but I need to get an OS on it.

I don't want to link this laptop I'm about to sell to my app store account in order to activate it, so I've got the Snow Leopard disc that came with the macbook in the drive... How do I make this happen?

Or... have I totally misunderstood what is going on, and the Mountain Lion install will be fine... !!

Put disc in, boot via 'C' at chime, install and away you go.

If you want to install ML from recovery you'll probably have to enter Apple ID.

Just put stock OS on there and let the buyer update if they want.
