Hi, I own this laptop:

http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?id=311

his graphic card is this one:

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560M discrete graphics (DDR5 1.5GB VRAM)

It's only supposed to support 2 monitors, through his outputs VGA and HDMI. It only supports 2, as i've tried to use 2 external monitors through these outputs + the laptop's monitor, but it doesn't work. It only displays on 2.

As I need to connect at least 3 external monitors to this laptop, do you know if there's any device/adapter/anything that will allow me to make 3+ monitors to work? I case there is, I need to keep the 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Thanks.

Hi there, without any extra kit a GTX 560M graphics card (like pretty much all modern Nvidia graphics cards) can only drive up to two monitors at a time.

To drive more, you would need to use some add-on kit like the Matrox Triplehead2Go. However, looking at this it will only allow you to run up three monitors at up to 1680x1050 resolution. Also, without a dual-link DVI connection you will have issues running this kit - as HDMI has much less bandwidth than dual-link DVI.

Unfortunately, for running a large number of monitors an Nvidia mobile graphics card isn't really that great. In comparison AMD notebook and desktop GPUs are usually much more suited for running many monitors.

You're out of luck in that your laptop lacks an expresscard slot, however it does have USB 3.0 and it looks like there are finally a products announced that use displaylinks new usb/videocard chip that takes advantage of USB 3.0.
The Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed™ Video Adapter has a 'coming soon' on the product page.

I'd strongly advise against using USB 2.0 'videocards' for a Full HD resolution, the performance is horrible

Google "VGA2728" if you need a solution within days rather than weeks, seems to be the only product on the market so far.. only sold in Africa(?) so far though. Perhaps contacting OC UK to ask if they get it in stock would be a good idea.

I was just looking for a DVI->HDMI adapter and accidentally stumbled upon this: http://uk.startech.com/AV/USB-Video...Card-Multi-Monitor-Adapter-1920x1080~USB32HDE. Hope linking that is not against forum policy, as Startech sells stuff on their own site and OCUK sells Startech products but not this one. Would be silly if we can't even link to product pages.
