Hi all,

I'm currently about to move away from home into a remote area of the UK and I will not have access to wifi!

Basic Info.

  • Network card = 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 PCI-E Adapter
  • Winver = Windows 10 212H ( OS 19044.1826)
  • iPhone Pro Max 13
My question is, I'm getting around 600mbs on my iPhone using 5G however, When I hotspot my phone to my PC it only appears on the available WIFI list when I activate "Maximum compatibility" Which switches it from 5ghz to 2.4ghz!
The IPhone won't even show up on the wifi list if this setting isn't enabled.

Is there any way to connect my IPhone to my PC using 5ghz and not 2.4ghz. I want to use to full capability of my phones 5g and not have the speed limited!

Thanks in advance,
Ryan.

Can always try USB tethering although you will need to either fully install iTunes or if you don't want iTunes, download and extract the iTunes installer and just install AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi for the needed iPhone drivers.
