I've had a system come back to me and i need to show the owner the unit is nearly 2 years old, all they can remember is that they bought it "around xmas", but they've got the wrong xmas!

How on earth do i find the date i installed xp to show the age of the system?

Cheers

Go To Start --->Run ----> Type "cmd" and hit enter.
In the command line type

systeminfo | find /i "install date"

Not sure how accurate it is, only took 2 mins to find that though.

Check the "Date Created" field for your Windows\System32 folder

thats how i do mine

however, it depends how the pc was deployed, it may have been from an image, which means, the date could be misleading..

Hav'nt cleared my CMOS since i brought the board, minus once, it has some feature that reboots the board until it find working settings, makes OC's easy.

With that said i've not had to setup the clock again....
