Hey all.
I've been using my Define R4 case with it's stock 140mm fans for the last few months now and it's been running okay, but I do wonder if I could get it any quieter by switching out the single front intake and single rear exhaust fans for something else? I wonder if not only is it possible to get quieter fans but ones that may push more air at the same time?
I actually set my fans to run at 7v with the voltage switch on my case as currently when running at full power at 12v it gets pretty noisy. It's a sort of low rumbling sound. I thought it was because the hard drives in front of the front intake would cause it to make the sound but taking that out and moving the fan up to the higher of the two front spots made no difference. The fan switch on the case uses 3 pin sockets and can connect up to 3 fans so ideally I'd love to get a quieter setup with 2 front intakes and the single rear exhaust all hooked up if that is even possible.
If I can preference on colour, anything black / white would be awesome but if one fan is far superior I can be swayed regardless of colour. Price is no option but if something a lot more expensive is only marginally better then I'll go for a cheaper option. I was swaying towards the Corsair AF140 fans, anyone think they would be a good choice?
Oh, and within the next few months when Ivybridge E comes out I will likely upgrade to that and will fit a NZXT Kraken X60 AIO (or maybe an H110i if they are released by then) in the top, so any additional advice on quiet fans and fan setups for those (Corsair SP140s?) would be great thanks. That is of course unless it would be quieter and give great cooling with air then advice for that would be appreciated too thanks! I will likely be buying an overclocked bundle from here so would have to take heat of a decent overclock.
Thanks all, sorry for the wall of text just wanted to put all info out there so people can give some thoughts!
Edit: Here is the inside as of right now: http://img.ctrlv.in/img/51b8abf419540.jpg
