Hey guys,

Basically, I've convinced my fiancee that it'll be a lot of fun to play a game together. I genuinely think this, but she's a little skeptical. I was thinking an ARPG, something like Path of Exile, but if you guys have any experience with something like this, or a different kind of suggestion that you think would be good. Something free would be preferable.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe the Trine series or Portal 2? Both cost money though but I'll bet cheaper than a couple of beers come the Steam sale in a couple of weeks.

Also log into steam and look up the free games.

Something Like Lord of the Rings Online might be a good idea. Pick two classes that complement each other healer/DPS and explore the lands.

Guitar Hero.

Make sure you show her how amazing you are with all fingers on all the buttons, and make her cry by mocking her when she struggles with only 3.

When she stops crying she'll start to think of your amazing fingerwork applied in a different manner, and this will lead to a far superior game.

Portal 2 would be my first choice. It's fun and it has a certain quality which anyone can really get in to.

If you want an ARPG then Torchlight 2, as it's more cutesy compared to PoE. PoE is quite intimidating for people who don't really game.

Others to consider: Dungeon Defenders, Castle Crashers, Magicka, Borderlands 2, Dead Island, Orcs Must Die 2, Trine 2.

Marvel heroes is free. If you are looking for a bit of fun/comedy I'd try the Lego games, love them all.

If you have a PS3 try the LittleBigPlanet games.

In my experience with wifes and women playing games, as long as they can play around with different outfits/clothes they are content. So id say a mmorpg. EQ2 or the like.

Any Lego game (play a franchise she likes)
LBP/LBP2
Rayman Origins

I've had great success with the above. We have completed 7 of the Lego games, and are eagerly awaiting the Marvel one due at the end of the year.
