I just got a new laptop with a wireless card. I have put the laptop down next to my main computer and it has recognised that there is a wireless network. However when I try to connect to the network it requires a "Wireless Security Password (Encryption Key)". It says it is WEP 128bit and has 13 characters or Hex-26 hexadecimal values.

I have no idea what this all means and do not remember ever setting a password on the wireless network so I don't know what to do.

I am using BTinternet, a 2wire wireless thingy on my main computer, and Intel PROSet/Wireless on the laptop.

Do you have a wireless router, or are you trying to connect to a wireless card on your main computer?

i think I have a router because its a separate white box that connects to my main computer by USB.

I am posting this from my laptop:

I searched on google and it turns out it was just some number on the bottom of the router. Google>OcUK I am afraid.

Rofl, nice, that makes us feel better :)

Didn't know they put it on the bottom though. I can't see someone breaking into your house to find out your WEP key so its not really a security issue :)
