hey guys, I'm just about to run out of juice on my dell pc (bad mistake, i know) and I decided if I was to start playing with my own pc, it'd be better (ASAP).
Problem is, i have not a clue about whats up to date and the differences.
Since I use photoshop quite a bit, fruity loops (I experiment to make tracks now and then), MMORPG's (the random collection of them) and sooner or later, mw3. I used to be heavy on steam but since my PC's started dieing, i stopped (l4d chomped it out)
I did research that bumped me to here and there and I came to at least want:
-a processor, over 3ghz (looking at phenom 2-hex and i5 2500k)
-a SSD at least to hold the OS and photoshop
-an extra hard drive for media
-antec 900 or 1200 case
-usb 3.0 compatible system
-8GB
-a 7.1 surround (although not too fussed
)
-blue ray optical drive
-GTX 460 at first but now i'm clueless. (as long as the HD is good since i'm hooking it up to either a new monitor or my tv, as well as using it on photoshop)
things like the PSU, motherboard, GPU I'm baffled by.
If anyone is willing to shed some light on a lost lamb, the lamb will be as grateful as the sea (in volume).
P.S budget...well the whole system is around £600-700 including OS (win pro is in my favor). A monitor would come later on a separate bill.
