Hi All,

Merry Christmas. Looking for some guidance please.

A Friend is having some issues with a build.

The most pressing being the PC turning off randomly which she reports is getting worse. Part listed below.

So my initial thought was a power supply issue, perhaps faulty?
Tried to contact supplier (Curry's PC) but they stated that the power supply was too small to support the 3060 card etc. and wouldn't entertain further discussions.

I looked this up and this doesn't appear to be the case with nVidia stating 550W as the minimum. Also monitoring software shows that power demands are well within 750 W

Also considered temperature, but there doesn't seam to be a problem, with operation in the range 40 - 60.

One thing I did note when I got a quick look at the machine - the builder has installed the nvme SSD in the M2_2 slot with nothing in the M2_1 slot. On the two recent builds I completed I put this SSD in the M2_1 slot. They are running windows from this drive. I don think that makes a difference - would it?

Any suggestions where to start trouble shooting?

Perhaps a clean windows install first? and stress test?

Anyhow welcome any guidance. Thank You.

Is there any relation in shutdowns to load on PC?
And is there any need for power cycling PC/PSU to get it started after shutdown?

Also check Event viewer and reliabiliy history for any serious errors time marked close to shutdowns.

Random shut downs are usually the hardest one's to tie down. Check event viewer but suspect it wont be overly helpful. Maybe try running everything as stock by removing any overclocks. Reset BIOS to it's defaults and use them. Make sure all hardware has the latest drivers and the latest firmware where required.
