But it's hard work

He has a new HP Desktop running I think W7 - anyway he has a problem - It's to do with his online banking originally but go worse.

As of yesterday when I needed to run updates on the computer, I can't get my online banking to work???

They are all close to the same I'd guess, I have a line down the left side of all the places I pay this way, I've never counted but I'm guessing I have between 30-40 in the list.

Then next on the same line is a box where you enter the amount, then the next box has a little calendar in it, when ticked it opens up a larger sequence of calendars with the current month the most prominent! You just click on the date you want to pay and it fills in the box with like 02/14/2015, then down below hit finish and you go to a confirmation page to check, then the last one to submit the approved payments.

I "think" the updates I did yesterday caused this, but no matter how I approach it, I can't get the cursor to excite the calendar, have you ever had anything like this?

As typical, I'm sure I'm the only one ever to have had this happen. I got ahold of IT at the bank and he/they had never had it happen, of course!

I went in with my phone last night and was able to do it all, so it's in the computer somewhere??

He told me to "force" it to update but I haven't tried that yet.

Any ideas?

I have no idea

In the process, was in a chat session with HP and he said to go to a 2/10 date and restore, when I clicked it, it shut down so that session is lost, then when finally came back up it said it wasn't restored because of my anti virus, so now, it's doing it again after I turned the virus off, ****!!!!

I still have no idea

I'll never learn anything cause nothing ever works!!!

I finally got the backup completed, then I found a system restore that was 2/7, the earliest there was and ran it!

Then it says it will now shut down and did, when it came back it was a black screen with white letters saying "attempting boot from USB device", then other crap below it but had a whirlygig spinning for awhile!

Then after a few minutes it changes to another black screen and says "non system disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready"!!

It hasn't had a disk in it, I don't know what it's talking about??

Hitting a key just pops that same screen up, I manually shut it off several times and back to the first screen it goes.

Brand new POS computer but I can screw anything up!!!

I still have no idea

So my question is what can I tell him to do next - If I was there I might be able to sort something out - as far as I know W7 came preloaded and he doesn't have the disc (I am still checking that)

He has been told HP will send a new HD - ( they said faulty HD) and he will have to send old one back with all his info on it but will sort that out when disc is changed - But the option prefered is accessing the HD that's in now.

from this message

"attempting boot from USB device"

it sounds like there is a USB stick or external hard drive connected to the PC and its trying to load windows from it. if this is the case turn off the PC and remove any USB sticks or external hard drives and try again and it should try and boot from the HDD instead

disconnect everything USB related except keyboard and mouse

Seems to be sorted

They sent him a HD - he fitted it and it didn't work - so after a lot of cussin he unplugged the external HD from USB port -put old drive back in and away it went -- I did tell him days ago to unplug drive but he said "I must have scan read it" Grrrrrrrrr.
