I'm not really a charts person... I grew out of that some 10 years ago. However, I'm pulling my hair out trying to ID a song which is being played on the radio a lot at the moment. I've checked the BBC Radio 1's Top 40 web site for the last 4 Sundays running and it's not on there. It is rhythmically similar to the first 30-40 seconds of Mike Posner's Cooler Than Me. It is sung by a male and it has trumpets in the accompaniment. For those with perfect pitch, it's in the key of B. Sorry I can't be more precise.

On a side note, what's up with Rihanna? She's got 3 songs inside the 40. That would never had happened when I was an avid chart-follower in the mid-90s.

Her albums have been played at work almost non-stop. At first it was annoying, then I wanted to finish the job her ex-boyfriend started*, now it's gotten to the point where I quite like some of the songs. She's worn me down :D

*too soon? :p

This maybe?:

Gorillaz - doncamatic?

I haven't a clue if it's rythmically similar to that awful mike posner, or indeed if it's in the key of 'b', but it's my guess!

Wild card, but Olly Murs - Thinking of me?

More techno as Mike Posner.
BOB Feat Rivers Cuomo - Magic

Would help if i actually ever listened to the radio though :p

After 2 months of pulling my hair out, I finally found out what it was. It was playing in a shop, so I had the chance to ask.

It was Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up.

It had male and female singers in it, so I was slightly wrong in my description by saying it was just male. Sorry for the late reply, but I thought it is more polite to follow up these replies and necro-post than just ignoring you all.
