Someone crashed into me yesterday. They have buckled what i think is part of the rear frame which has also been pushed into the fuel tank (but not pierced it). Im trying to work out what that part of the rear frame is. Its a long bar with about a diameter of 2" that is between the plastic bumper and fuel tank. Im guessing its there to protect the fuel tank.
I was trying to explain it to the insurance people who seemed to think the car would be a right off because of the damage, not really happy about this because i know ill get nowhere near enough cash to buy a new car. But theres not a lot i can do about it except bite the bullet.
Someone is coming to collect the car and take it off for inspection in the next 48 hours.
Anyone know what that bar is called?
