Hi all ,

hopefully someone can help me as im running out of hair to pull.

I recently brought the list below :
  • asus a68hm-plus
  • amd athlon x4 860k
  • kingston hyper x fury blue 8gb ddr3
  • palit geforce gt710
  • xfx ts 430w psu

Now this is a new build for my 8 year old so ive gone cheap to see how he gets on with it , this has all fit in an old zalman z11 case.

Now the system switches on fine , but when im trying to install windows 10 pro oem (which i got from a well known auction site) i have downloaded the windows create media file to put the installation on a usb stick , which worked but when im trying to install it keeps crashing at different points , furthest i got was it has installed windows , tried to restart and froze at start up . like right now ive got it to start installing but its stuck at 4% getting files ready for installation , ive tried 2 different usb sticks now. Im going to try and burn the iso to a disk and see if thats any better ??

Anyone know whats going on ?

ok so tried the disk , it it appears to be no different , froze on setup is starting..now im aware this can be a slow install but surely my cursors would freeze solid. No hdd led flicker , no lights on the dvd reader to say its being read. This isnt the first machine ive built so i know what im doing , but this is driving me nuts !!

well it has installed and restarted and is now checking the disks , never got this far before. seems to be working. How will i know if its the ram or the slot? would it be a case of moving this apparent good one into the other slot ?

ok so it seems that im finally going to get into windows.its setting up windows as we speak.

Thanks loads for your help here archerz...much appreciated
