dont waste your money on gym. Carry on running walking get a daysack and get up the hills! I love running past the local gym in all weathers and seeing some people on the running machines ; )

Have you thought about cycling?

I made the decision last year to ditch public transport and have been doing between 170 and 250 miles a week, depending upon where I work.

Given that I work in London it's quicker, healthier and more fun than any other way of getting too and from work. Also, because I'm exercising as my commute it's easy to fit into my day, every day.

I love running but I also love the gym, for weights, swimming, spinning, women in tight lycra and what have you. I guess it depends what you want to do. If it's only running, then no need for a gym.

Nike+ is totally awesome and is a great motivator. I love looking back at my run logs and laughing at how totally unfit I was before I started running, in two months you'll be running 12k+ and the fat will be melting off.
