Trying to meet an internet friend

I've been chatting to someone I met as a friend via a Facebook group for a good few months, we seemed to get on really well and I was surprised to find out that she lives quite close to me.

We arranged to meet at a local gym because that seemed sensible as it's always fairly busy and we'd both be in a situation we're familiar with.

I waited for ages but she didn't arrive.

I guess this means we're not going to work out.
