Hi, so im having an issue and i was hoping for some help. Here is my cpu-z bench http://valid.x86.fr/dpykdm .... I have a I7 6700k - gtx 1080ti - z170 pro gaming mother board running windows 10 and i am trying to clock my cpu to 4.5ghz.. Im following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMWCFwKBQtQ as it's more or less my build. The issue is, when i save the overclock and restart my pc, my pc displays no image and i have to hard reset my pc. It's not even that the image is black, im getting nothing at all. I know this because when my monitor is off, it's standby light flashes red and when i turn on my pc, it remains on. But when i reboot after the overclock, it just blinks, like it's off. Im not sure what the issue is, i followed this tutorial exactly, any help would be greatly appreciated

Possibly cpu voltage, maybe try increasing it to 1.375v, still same issue?
Hi, i adjusted it to the same voltage you said and the same happened. So just for the sake of science, i left it at your voltage and put it at 4.2ghz and the same issue occurred, so it's got me thinking it's something else in that video that is causing it. Could me messing with the xmp stuff be causing it?

Possibly,
Set/reset the bios to default.
Establish it is stable at stock, so you have a baseline to work with.
I'd recommend using hw monitor for temps voltage and frequency.

Then do some basic benchmark such as cinebench and Asus realbench.

Then follow the video leaving the ram tweeks out.

The danger of following someone else's overclocked settings is there's too many variables to consider if it just crashes, you'll have no idea why it's crashed.

Edit, someone more experienced than me may chime in, but let us know your full system spec and what temperature your CPU and gpu reach when gaming for one hour just running default settings (run hw monitor and leave it running whilst playing a demanding game)

I can't even do that now, i restored my pc to default on everything, so no overclock or anything.. now evey time i load up something my pc freezes.. not sure what I've done, but seems i may of ****** something. It even froze when i went into the bios

Pull the power cable off the pc and disconnect the bios battery.

Reconnect both after a few ew minutes unplugged.

Does it boot? It might take 2 attempts if it crashed badly.

Yeah i got it back on... I ran HW monitor whilst doing the realbench stress test (which it passed ) and my Cpu temp at idle was 20c and peaked at 62c during the test.. My gpu was sitting at 30c idle and peaked at 72c during the stress test. Cinebench results were

and real bench results were

Not sure if any of that is good or bad ( Im pretty new to Pc's ) ........... At the moment my PC seems to be running ok, so for now i think ill forget the overclock. I even changed the setting in the bios to highspeed/gaming and looking at the realscore, it seems to have put it at 4.3ghz up from 4ghz, so ill take that. My ram clock seems a little low, but after this episode, i don't dare go back into the bios to have a play with it lol

You need to post more info on your cooling etc before anyone can comment...

Overclocking that on the asus BIOS is so easy, open bios and select XMP which should then reflect the proper ram speed. Change ratio in all cores to 45. Done. Voltage can be left on auto to start with and then see if it works and what kind of volts it's pulling before moving down bit by bit manually. Follow the 6700k overclocking guide on ROG for the Maximus hero...
