Hi
After many weeks of trying to pick what to get i think am getting there just need a little help.I just want to know what mobo to get
as am on a budget theres only a couple of way i can go
Option 1, ever get a Asus P5N32-E PLUS SLi nForce or a EVGA nForce 680i SLI SKT775 and a E6300,2gb memo and a Sapphire X1950Pro 256MB then when the DX10 card come down in price upgrade to one of them
Option 2,Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775 or a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P Socket 775 and a E6300,1 gb memo and a BFG 8800GTS OC 320MB DDR3.I dont know much about mobos so am open to options.I dident think it wo be so hard to upgrade and am starting to get peed off with it so any help please as this money is burning a hole in my pocket

I'd go for the second option, especially if you running XP as 1 GB RAM will be fine. I'd go for the SLI board if they are similarly priced, and you plan on getting another GTS. If you don't see your self getting a second card, I think the 965 based boards are better overclockers.

E6300, DS3, 8800GTS if you don't need SLi

Win.

Should really try to stretch to 2GB RAM tho.

Amended for truth as I reckon the P5N-E SLi is just as good a clocker as the P965 series boards, but you have to be more creative to get there. And if you want SLi and two PATA ports, it's the only game in town.

SLI is entirely needless. Might as well upgrade the one graphics card you have, if you're ever looking for increased performance.

It seem seem pointless if you don't have a big monitor or the gamnes you play don't have SLi profiles, but a good SLi setup on a 24" Monitor does give a better game experience (higher frame rates with all the eye-candy turned on) than a single 8800GTX.

If the OP wants SLi, then he can have it, but I would agree with you - a single card in a DS3P is the way to go if he doesn't intend to use SLi.

They will effectively last as long as you want them to, and yeah, they are good. 965P has enough features to grant you a decent overclock.

Am thinking of sacking the DX10 off for till the DX10 games come out so my budget for the mobo as gone up so what mobo am i best getting or should i stick with one of the 2 cheaper ones

starting to get peed off
Haha if you feel like that now just spec'ing up your build, you wait till you actually try and order it and one of the parts goes out of stock or the price suddenly goes up, on top of that the courier is 2 days late and then finally when you managed to assemble it it doesn't work because one of the parts is DOA!! :D

Check out the P5B series from ASUS, very solid boards!

get it seperately with the Geil/OCZ RAM which is on this week only offer, cheaper and better

I wouldnt touch Corsair RAM unless they are dominator series as there are cheaper and better alternatives
