Hi All,

My motherboard has recently broken and I'm trying to get my PC up and running again.

The working components are:

Athlon 64 3500 S939
4x512Mb PC3200 RAM
PCI-E GF7800GT

However as far as I can tell s939 mobo's don't seem to be being sold any more - the majority places don't stock them and those that do are out of stock.

Do any other CPU types use DDR1 ram, or will I be forced to replace CPU, mobo & RAM all together (ouch)?

It's for gaming so Semphrons & Celerons won't cut it.

Thanks in advance

A new motherboard will be hard to find although second-hand ones should be very cheap. If you're happy with the performance, get a replacement S939 board. You won't be able to use the DDR1 memory in either a new AMD or Intel setup but RAM is stupidly cheap at the moment. A new budget system based on Intel would be a significant step up from where you are.
