Hiya, got an issue with running 3 monitors atm so wondering who can help me out. I've tried google for answers but nothing much shines through!

Here's the set up:
2x Dell P2210 @ 1680x1050
1x Dell E198WFP (This could be changing but currently a 1440 monitor)
XFX 5770
XFX Active MiniDP to DVI single link

The problem:
It's not working -.- I'm not trying for eyefinity, I just want 3 monitors running(although, I'd somewhat assume that's what running 3 monitors would be classed as). Basically it's picking the 19" up but I can't set it to act as a 3rd screen in the CCC. The 2x 22's are both DP capable monitors and I have the MiniDP going into the secondary 22", with the 19/22 both connected via DVI to the GPU.
Edit: I've tried disabling all and running each independently, they all work. I've also tried matching different pairs to see if the 3rd will have a chance at becoming active but also no luck.

Any ideas guys?

OK, I think eyefinity is a waste of time anyway, why people want to play games with the edges of monitors I will never know.
What outputs does your 5770 have? I know it's a pain to get 3 monitors running. When I bought my 5770 crossfire I had to buy an adaptor, you could buy an active display port adaptor for about £80 or you could get a standard one for about £20. I am a little hazy on the details but I currently run 2 19" monitors from the 2 Digital out slots and run a centre widescreen from a displayport to DSUB adaptor.
People have had a lot of grief with them, if you use the HDMI slot if you have one it disables one of the digital outs and so on. Can you link your exact model of card? there are a few XFX ones.

That's Eyefinity though Surveyor, I'd assume that just running 3 screens there possibly wouldn't be the restriction?

The 5770 is the single slot version with 2x DVI and 1x Mini DP, give me 2 mins and I'll edit with the link.
I've got the so called "Active" Mini DP > Single link DVI adaptor already from XFX... I thought that was the right one?.com

also Subliminal, when you say Ultramon... I have no idea what your talking about :P
EDIT: A quick google of Ultramon and it appears to be a utility to help multiple monitors, not necessarily allow a 3rd monitor? Or am I so tired i'm reading into it wrongly?

Chill out tiger - It's only Tuesday !

Yeah my bad - I thought you had 2 gpus - Ultramon essentially gives you a hell of a lot more options than CCC, yes you can enable / disable monitors through it too but if you find ultramon only finds 2 monitors then it's a driver issue

Doesn't seem to help with enabling the 3rd monitor. :S

Anyone else got any ideas on what to do? I'm wondering if the adaptor is faulty, but then if it was I'd imagine it wouldn't pick up the 3rd monitor at all?

Does it see all of them at once ?

Maybe the card can't handle it even though it should. Silly suggestion - Ensure all refresh rates are the same - test - reduce resolution on all monitors to something like 1280x800 - retest

Stumped mate

Refresh rates are all 60Mhz according to the CCC. It shouldn't be this ******* hard to run 3 monitors, am getting very ****** off with this quickly. :S
Gonna ring XFX I think and see what they say.

Mine uses display port rather than mini display port, unsure if there is much difference. I have a bad feeling the card in that configuration can only drive 2 displays at a time.
If you dont game much or dont need high speed 3D on all displays and have a spare PCIe slot I would simply buy a cheap ATI 5400 to drive the third display. Might save you a lot of grief and will run off the same driver.

The card was bought as it claims to be able to run eyefinity, let alone just 3 monitors with no gaming.

I'm not going to be best pleased if I have to send the adaptor back and buy a cheap card as the idea was to NOT use 2 cards in this build. :(

If you have 2 DP capable monitors why are you using an adapter?

It must be easier to connect 1 monitor with DP directly and then the other 2 with DVI.

Apparently, it should work on XP running 3 monitors, as Eyefinity is an independant set up.
One obvious thing that I didn't actually try was to try the adaptor on its own with a screen plugged in. It doesn't work. None of the 3 monitors + 1 extra for confirmation display when plugged in via the DP adaptor, so the next thing is to take the adaptor home and trry it in my GPU... if it works then it's the 5770's port, if it doesn't work then it's the adaptor.

What a hassle this has been.

Cheers for all your input guys.
