Why would you buy this keyboard? I mean it looks like an old Spectrum/Amstrad keyboard doesn't it.

It's a proper keyboard with mechanical switches so the typing experience is significantly nicer than on most 'high end' keyboards that use membrane switches. There is a thread elsewhere about Cherry keyboards that are basically a similar system. You either prefer the feel of you don't. If you do, the small extra cost is easily worth it.

If you have spent a large ammount of time using the old style mechanical keyboards, then moving to the membrane ones can feel horrid. Some people just vastly prefer mechanical keyboards, but due to them being more expensive to make and sold in much lower numbers, they are more expensive.

Its the same in any industry. There will always be oder technology that is considered higher quality or 'nicer' than the new cheaper stuff... so it commands its own neiche market. Records for example, are more expensive to make than CD's, yet people still prefer and buy them.

I love mechanical switch keyboards, my keyboard is £5 worth from a local PC shop from about 6 years ago, PS/2, beige, some random stickers where I can get them but its the best one I've ever typed with... i'm heavy handed anyway when typing and you can press a gazillion keys at once when in big FPS firefights, and it doesnt bleep and crash out at you.

Brilliant, but looks ugly as :p

still using an ancient keyboard ive had for about 8 years :D a logitech one :p

probably worth 50p but just as good as that one :D
