Hi,

I have a question regarding have dual monitor. I currently have a laptop which has the following:

(4) USB 3.0 incl. 1 with PowerShare
RJ45 Ethernet
HDMI™ v1.4a
AC Power In

IT does not have a vga port on the laptop.

I currently have a monitor which was used previously with VGA port and has VGA port. What is the best way to have a dual monitor to work with this?

USB display adapter with VGA output?

Edit: you posted on already :p

We use them on a few laptops at work, not had any complaints so far.

If you are looking to use the laptop screen it is very strait forward. Use a HDMI to VGA adapter if your monitor does not have HDMI, or a DVI adapter if your monitor has such input. DVI adapter can be found on Overclockers, VGA elsewhere.

If you need two external monitors, the only way forward is USB adapters. A few programmer colleagues use these with both Windows and Linux with success though it is not 100% stable it is more than good enough for stable work. They even manage to use the laptop screen as a third screen in this setup.
