trying to set google chrome as default browser but not in list

hi all

wonder if anybody can help, I have windows 10 and I'm trying to set my google chrome browser up as the default browser as I don't like Microsoft edge.

problem is when I go into settings - default programs, its not on the list under browser but yet its installed as iv been using it

can anybody help

Search "Default programs", you need to use the desktop version instead of the Modern UI version, then find Chrome in the list on the left and set it as default from there.

Do it from within Chrome's settings page or just re-install Chrome.
