Hi guys,

Im having trouble setting up vcenter im trying to setup an LDAP link and i keep getting not reachable on port 443 ive never used a virtual network before so am unsure what to change.

Thanks

What are you trying to setup LDAP for? User authentication? Where does it say "not reachable on port 443"?

Some more details would be useful.

443 is HTTPS so nothing to do with LDAP.

As growse says, more information is necessary. Vcenter is a standalone windows server application, so nothing to do with virtual networking

From the microsopic screenshot, I cant really see what's going on - but do you need or want orchestrator anyway?

Also (although this is not part of your current error, but will probably be the next) is the root entry correct? Never seen a . in a DN

Ok thanks for all the replies got that working now the LDAP user lookup base for a domain called virtual.vm.local with a group called users should that be,

CN=Users,DC=Virtual,DC=VM,DC=Local?

Thanks in advance

Yes, if it's asking for it all in the one field

As above though, I really dont think you want orchestrator anyway!

I started following some information from a friend to install and setup vcenter and it led me into this interface and ive been trying to get this all working since.

Do you even know what orchestrator is?

Have you even installed vCenter or just orchestrator?

vCenter is pretty straight forward to set up, you should be able to install it with defaults, letting it create an MSDE instance for the database. You can then connect to it with the VI client and add your hosts/configure it from there

I think im going to revert back to and earlier snapshot and just start this again, thanks for all the help never played with virtualization much looks like i need to do some more reading.
