hi all

im trying to bring the noise level of my case down.

so im considering changing the standard fans that came with my antec 900.

what would be the best way to go about it? are they easily changed in this case?

also what fans would be good for silence but keeping up the air flow?

fnally is there anything i can do to quieten the 200mm fan in the top as i guess i wont be able to exchange it for a quieter model?

thanks for any help

all the fans have three settings and i have them all set on low.

but i guess 7 volt mod would be seperate as its actual to do with the power.

how do you do they mod?

While I have no direct experience with this case swapping fans is not generally considered a complicated task.

Sharkoon silent eagles have a very very good CFM/noise ratio. Very good choice for a quiet PC (note they don't undervolt a long way so for an inaudable PC look to yate loons or noctua fans)

As mentioned a volt mod is one solution. I'm not a fan of 7v mods as I don't like not using a ground. Consider a 5v mod or just unplugging the thing all-together.

As a side note consider the T-ballencer bigNG as the ultimate in fan-control on the market right now. It isn't for the casual user however as it's quite complex to set up and can result in lots of cable mass.

Other common causes of noise are stock graphics and proccessor coolers, the PSU fan and vibrations from the hard drives being transmitted into the case.

well i have the tuniq tower as my cpu cooler, with the fan speed at inaudiable.

and i have an accelero s1 on order for my 8800gts

will look at changing the 120mm fans to see how that quietens things down.

i dont suppose my two raptors are exactly great for noise, do they still sell the Internal HD caddies for silencing them?

thanks for all the advise so far

i have the same case and it very easy to take out fans and replace, top fan is just acase of uncliping the top, mine is pretty quiet anyway even seton medium,so to hear that over all the other fans etc you wil need absolute silent fanshttp://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-NC&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

These are VERY quiet fans. They are also, however, very expensive and don't have as good a noise/airpressure ratio as the silent eagle fans. If you consider the tuniq inaudable then the silent eagle 1000s will probably do you.
